The Challenge

Hyperbat, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance electric vehicle battery packs, encountered significant challenges regarding the quality of wiring harnesses supplied by existing vendors. 

As safety-critical components, wiring harnesses demand stringent quality procedures, including automated processes, no-fault-forward controls, 100% testing, and total traceability, to guarantee flawless performance in the field.

Hyperbat required a responsive UK-based supplier capable of providing expedited manufacturing services to accommodate intricate designs and ensure timely deliveries. These requirements were crucial to meeting their customers’ expectations with unwavering quality and confidence.

The Solution

Unipart utilised its deep-rooted manufacturing and supply chain expertise to establish a production line for Hyperbat. 

Supported by funding from the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK, a fully operational manufacturing facility was created, equipped with cutting-edge equipment. This facility has been commissioned and is operational at Hyperbat’s Coventry site.
