Unipart sponsors first Oxford Climate Awards

June 2024Unipart is sponsoring the first ever Oxford Climate Awards, recognising individuals and organisations in Oxfordshire playing a vital role in tackling climate change.

The category Unipart will be sponsoring is the ‘Sustainable Small Business of the Year Award’, which will recognise a small business with fewer than 10 employees in Oxford demonstrating exceptional commitment to environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, waste reduction and sustainable practices.

Unipart develops and delivers cleaner, more sustainable service solutions to reduce the environmental impact of its operations and its customer supply chains.

This includes Eco Insight, an energy monitoring and analytics platform that uses real-time data to visualise energy consumption and carbon impact, helping businesses run more cost effectively and sustainably.

Andy Pyne, Unipart Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “As a member of the Oxford Zero Carbon Partnership, Unipart is proud to sponsor the Oxford Climate Awards recognising individuals and organisations alert to the need to tackle climate change now.

“Sustainability is deeply embedded in Unipart’s culture, driving long-term growth for employees, customers, suppliers and local communities. Unipart has ambitious near-term and net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

“We look forward to meeting the finalists across all the categories to learn about the innovative commitment they’re making to sustainability.”

Nominations can now be made here, and are open to the public, businesses and private organisations. The closing date for nominations is 11 August. The awards ceremony takes place in Oxford Town Hall on 17 October.
