To show our support for National Recycling Week, which ran from 24th-30th September, Unipart Logistics took an environmental roadshow to a number of our sites, helping to raise awareness of several environmental issues that affect us all.
This follows the event in April this year, where UL Managing Director Frank Burns officially launched UL’s campaign to totally eliminate the use of single use plastic in our operations by 2020.
The roadshows were designed to encourage everyone at Unipart Logistics to live more sustainably by highlighting some of the benefits of recycling more plastics, not only at work but also at home.
Environment Manager Angela Dobbins explained to those attending the roadshow that we should all avoid completely – or at least reduce significantly – the use of single use plastics in particular. “We should also increase the proportion of plastic we recycle every day. In doing so, we can each play a part in solving some of the biggest environmental issues of the day, such as climate change, as well as reducing the amount of unsightly plastic now polluting our oceans and affecting marine life. “
