September 2024 – Unipart has been awarded a five-star rating in the British Safety Council wellbeing audit.
The audit involved a rigorous evaluation of wellbeing policies, processes, and practices, and included a detailed review of documentation, interviews with stakeholders, and sampling of operational activities.
Unipart was found to excel in providing not only comprehensive mental health support, but also additional resources for those assisting others, such as line managers and mental health first aiders, with exemplary safeguarding protocols.
Claire Burgess, Unipart Head of Health & Wellbeing, said: “I am incredibly proud that Unipart has achieved a five-star rating. We could not have achieved this without our outstanding wellbeing team, and all our colleagues who have created an environment where wellbeing is paramount.
“Work helps give us a sense of purpose, boosts our self worth, and provides us with opportunities to connect with others. However, it can also be a source of stress and anxiety and can contribute to developing or impacting existing health problems.
“Knowing that 1 in 6 people in England experience poor mental health, such as anxiety or depression, each week, reinforces our responsibility as an employer to continue to create a safe and supportive environment, to ensure we understand the needs of our colleagues, so we can support their overall wellbeing through a comprehensive and integrated approach.”
