April 2023 – Unipart Logistics has won Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health & Safety Awards for the sixth year in a row.
Unipart Logistics’ Nuneaton site received a Highly Commended Industry Sector Award, with Honeybourne site receiving a Commended Industry Sector accolade.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK recognising organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work. RoSPA judges look at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership, workforce involvement and safety culture.
Chris Taylor, UL Operational Services Director said:
“The Unipart Way is at the heart of everything we do at Unipart and is demonstrated in the way we think, the way we work and the way we behave. Health, safety and well-being are critical elements of this, and maintain a culture in our business that protects our people and processes and makes Unipart a great place to work.
The awards are testament to our people across these sites and around the business whose daily efforts and personal commitment ensures we continue to set the highest standards when it comes to health, safety and well-being.
I am extremely proud to be part of an organisation where every individual and team is accountable for the way that we prevent accidents and ill health at work.”
The Unipart Way, Our Contribution Counts circles and Unipart’s WorkWell strategy all contributed to a demonstration of continuous improvement, engagement, and commitment to employee wellbeing that is defined as industry leading by RoSPA’s rigorous benchmarking.
Julia Small, RoSPA Achievements Director, said:
“Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
“We are thrilled that Unipart Logistics continues to demonstrate a culture of leadership, personal accountability and an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, customers and suppliers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
Unipart’s commitment to maintaining a culture of health, safety and well-being is further evidenced in Unipart Rail and Unipart Technologies Group who have been awarded RoSPA Gold awards at the same time – click here to read more.
