February 2021 – Jake Rudham from Unipart Rail has been appointed Rail Supply Group industry champion.
The Rail Supply Group (RSG) is the leadership body for the UK rail supply sector, whose aim is to strengthen the capability and competitiveness of the UK rail supply chain to grow business at home and abroad.
In addition to Jake’s appointment as the Export and Inward Investment Pillar Champion, Lizi Stewart becomes joint RSG Champion for RSG’s ‘Digital Railway Pillar’ alongside Rob Morris, Managing Director Rail Infrastructure at Siemens.
As a rail industry champion, Jake will contribute to the RSG committed to delivering the Government’s Industrial Strategy: The Rail Sector Deal through fostering partnership between industry and government.
Jake Rudham, Unipart Rail Marketing Director, said: “I am looking forward to making further progress on growing UK rail exports and accelerating the delivery of key RSG initiatives, including a mentoring scheme for those companies seeking guidance and support on exporting, made evermore pertinent with the advent of Brexit. Also, our employers’ ‘reference scheme’, whereby significant employers provide work references for UK businesses to support them in winning work overseas. In 2020, Network Rail signed up to the scheme. This year I want to include TfL, Tier 1 suppliers, train operating companies, and rolling stock companies.”
