Challenge

Organisations today are navigating complex strategic landscapes. Unipart Consultancy can help organisations understand, design and deliver the key breakthrough programme of projects to deliver their strategy through programme and project management best practices.

A lack of directional clarity and delivery control can be a result of:

  • Poor definition of plans
  • Lack of agility to business environmental changes
  • Stakeholders who feel they are not included or listened to
  • High-level plans are not clearly translated to implementation
  • Strategy does not link to business KPIs requirements

67% of well-formulated strategies fail due to poor execution

Value

Strategy Deployment involves understanding the organisation’s strategic imperative and the key aims and results they seek to achieve within that, to then design the breakthrough programme of projects required to deliver that.

Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) is a very powerful methodology that can be used to create/confirm a set of long-term objectives aligned to your organisation’s mission, agree the priority break-through programmes and projects, and assign ownership and accountability for delivering the results.

What we do

Unipart has used strategy deployment as its framework for strategic project delivery for more than 30 years. Strategy should be defined and deployed consistently to deliver aligned projects and results.Project Delivery System (PDS) is the Unipart standard project management methodology through which we ensure consistent delivery of our projects. It is based upon the industry-leading practices of Prince2© (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) combined with the experience that Unipart has in delivering complex projects. It is a process we use to ensure that our projects are successful in terms of Cost, Quality and Delivery.

We use PDS as a methodology that offers Project Managers a comprehensive Project Lifecycle to follow. PDS should always be used for major projects, but it can also be used to manage all projects or situations requiring change. PDS provides a well-managed and visible set of activities to achieve desired results and minimise the risk of failure.

First, we help organisations design strategy, then we help them understand the aims and results it will unlock, and finally, we help them implement the governance through which that should be managed. After that, we deploy Programme Management techniques to ensure the programme of work is completed safely and effectively, followed by project management methodologies to ensure the projects within the programme are managed well.

We have the flexibility to either deploy a dedicated Programme or Project Management team as a temporary or long-term stand-in capability, ensuring seamless project execution, or we can offer expert guidance and strategic advice to enhance the effectiveness of existing project management teams. This allows us to tailor our support to meet the specific needs of your organisation, whether by directly managing projects or by empowering your teams with the right methodologies, tools, and best practices to drive successful project outcomes.
